How can I stop the annoying seat belt beeping?
Hi,
I have a 1991 Honda Accord, and since I bought the car used from a friend a couple of years ago it has sporadically beeped as though the seat belts aren't buckled -- even when they are! I took it to a mechanic and they checked the seatbelts and made sure that they are safe and operational, and they are. The stupid thing keeps beeping though! They said it might be a fuse problem or something, but I have no money for them to try to solve it, so do any of you know any tricks/solutions to stop the seat belt warning beeping sound? Any info or advice will be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance! Sincerely, Chris |

mine isnt broken, but i want to stop the beeping too. im assuming the sound is coming from the same device that makes the sound when the key is in the ignition and the doors are open. does anyone know where it is, or what it looks like?? i just want to unplug it or yank it out.

on the drivers side. look at the frame where the driver door closes at. youll see a latch to keep the door from flying off and either above it or below it should be a button that slides in and out when you door is been opened or closed. you can tape it down with strong tape so it wont activate the beeping noise or put someting between the slider and the end of the rail its on so it wont fully retract. thatll stop the beepeing noise when your door is open. i do it all the time when i clean out the car. :bandit:

true true, maybe your gonna have to get into the dash and see if you can disconnect the beeping noise from being tripped when the door opens. cant do it by fuse. :bandit:

Under the passenger side seat there are a couple of plugs I don't know which one stops the beeping. Just move the seat all the way back and you will see a black plastic cover lift up on the front of it and there will be a green and a brown plug. I can't remember which one to pull so just try one then the other.
