WIP: Corvette C6 with opened trunk

Hey, I started this kit as a bit of a relief from the stress of my CLK DTM, and because this gorgeous paint came in the mail on Saturday. It's a Lamborghini tri-coat from Cobra Colors, and it's a joy to work with. Just as a prefix, yes, that's crazing you see, but I actually sanded it down, so most of it is only cosmetic. It happened in the midcoat, and it's a learning experience for the Fujimi 959 Enthusiast that just shipped, that will also be wearing a tri-coat paint. I just think the color on here is beautiful!

Deltableh, I edited your post so the pictures fall one below the other instead of all in a straight line
In future, you may want to hit the 'enter' key after each image link so that the images fall below one another.

Re: WIP: Corvette C6 with opened trunk

I would suggest using Cobra's VX sealer before applying primer or color. I've found that 'moon mud' is not a great barrier by itself.

Re: WIP: Corvette C6 with opened trunk

Actually, I didn't use the Moon Mud, I just used Testors from a can.

Testors what?
I was wondering if you used the lacquer primer?

I could have. I'll check when I go down to check on the light CF work I did on some parts. Like I said, this build is a test-build so I don't ruin my Porsche 959 when it comes from Japan, as well as being an easy build compared to the Original Tiele, and therefore making it relaxing. That being said, I'm not cutting corners, and I'll be clearcoating this and the Mercedes tonight.

IRON CHEF AMERICA!

And if you think the car looks good then, wait until you see it now, with 4 coats of paint!

Re: WIP: Corvette C6 with opened trunk

Alright, after two fairly light layers of clear, here are some pictures. I'm very happy how the color looks

Re: WIP: Corvette C6 with opened trunk

it looks as though you can still see the crazing really bad. A suggestion for future revell kits. If you work with any more of their new releases, ie anything released after the corvette. Make a habit of always priming with Cobra Color primer. I used moon mud and there was absolutely no crazing

Re: WIP: Corvette C6 with opened trunk

Took some pictures outside; you can see the crazing () but also the brightness of the color.
