One More Question

This question concerns my sons computer again, (Dell E310 XP Media Center OS.) I did some of the things Neutrino reccomended in my other post to fix the problems we were experiencing. One of the things was going in and setting myself and my wife up as Computer Administrators with passwords to prevent our kids from changing the settings on the computer. Now I've discovered a new problem that I can't seem to undo or correct. When trying to type in my password to gain access to my account, I thought the keyboard was broken, or the computer was freezing up on me again. When I attempted to type my password, there was a small electronic beep emanating from the computer each time I hit a key. As I hit a key, I noticed there was no response on the screen. When my daughter got home from school, I asked her what her brother did to the computer keyboard, or what settings did he change to get no response as I type. She told me that I "have to hold the key down longer for it to work." As I tried this I noticed it finally worked and was able to gain access to my account. I searched through different areas looking for what I can change to make the keyboard respond quicker to my commands. I looked in all the areas like control panel, set program access and defaults, and even looked in the help section to no avail . I even used system restore to bring it back to a point last week where I knew the keyboard was working the way I liked, but that didn't work. I had read somewhere about "sticky keys", thinking that might be what it was , but after researching it, I found out it wasn't that. I like to type at a fast pace so the way the keyboard on their computer is acting know is a real "pain in the ass", and I know it worked properly in the past. Does anybody know whereI can go on the computer to undo or change this setting to make the keyboard respond quicker to the typing action? Your help is much appreciated. Thank you.

Re: One More Question

hmm very weird effect, try a different keyboard and try coneting it either via usb or ps2 and see it that makes any difference.

Otherwise the only two things i can think off the top of my head to cause such a key lag would a badly written keylogger or a system that is very busy (neither seem very likelly to be an issue during initial log screen.
