sand the car to allow pri mer to stick! let primer dry 24 ho urs, or spray in the morning and let it go throughout the day to harden, then sand whatever sticks out.....basically primer is to make the paint stick, and allow you to see whatever protrusions are coming off the car, i.e. scratches etc

Current projects all painted WITHOUT primer
You don't always hafta use primer. BTW in the 20yrs. I've been doing this I used testors model master primer once! once! That stuff is crap. If I do use a primer It's duplicolor ,or some kind of automotive stuff. I found just recently that Tamiya's primer is good stuff. Goes on thin and build's easily and sands off like baby powder. I'll post three pics of cars painted without primer using tamiya's TS range of paints right out of the can!
