I'm starting an FAQ for anyone who has general questions about their vehicle. Post it here. I should be able to awnser it. If I can't awnser your question, I will either do research or find someone who can.

I never said that you didnt know anything about your cars but if someone has a question for what gears they should use, what motors, tire inserts, anything like that.

Yeah i know a little bit about it. What do u want to know? I only have one taimya vehicle and I do know they pay attention to small detail. Its a four whell drive touring car and it's belt drive. It's a decent touring car but the TAO4 is faster in the corners but is alot harder on tires. That's all I'm sure of off the top of my head. I think the overall gearing is about 12:1 and the motor is mid mounted and closer to the rear. I also think its a dual belt drive. I have a Taimya catolog at my dad's house that will tell me/show me this stuff. I can't get out there for another 2 weeks or so.

I didn't say that it was mid-mounted. Here is what i said.

hey i got a question for you. How should i gear my TB-01? I have a kyosho 16 turn double. I want to drift my car so keep that in mind. I dont know how fast my motor is (RPM) but its not to hot. the help would be very apreciated.

HOLY THREAD RESURECTION. this has got to be the biggest thread resurect ive seen, three years, wow. i forgot i made this thread.... also, please do not resurect threads like this, I know it is an FAQ, but next time, please just start a new thread instead of resurecting a three year old thread. Ok, as to your question, I can't awnser that with out asking another question. gearing is more a personal prefernce more than anything. The short awnser is gear it how you want, as long as your motor doesnt get too hot. Your motor will mroe than likely get warm. i actually have all of mine geared so they get quite hot after a run, but i havent had any of those crap out on me, yet, even the crazy hot rage type r (old stock motor). Gear it so your happy with the speed and run times you get. If you are gearing it for racing, that is another story, where you gear it so you dont lose and speed going down the first straight, but still have enough battery power to complete the race. It sounds like you dont want to race, so gear it until your happy with the run time and speed, just make sure you arent over gearing it. when you over gear it, youll know it. your run times would go from lets say 10 minutes, to two minutes.

with that said, if you want to drift, id suggest a higher numerical gear ratio (i dont know what your gearing currently is so i cant be that specific) to help you break those tires loose.

Sorry for reviving the thread i hadnt noticed. hehe this was more impresive than jesuses resurection. One small Question though a bigger final gear ratio gives more top speed? and a lower final gear ratio gives better acceleration and torque? am i correct in these two asumptions?

Umm, it dpeneds on how you read that. that reads a little cojnfusing, so ill stick some numbers in. a lower nuermical gear ratio, or a taller gear, like a final drive geat of 4:1 will give you a higher top when compared to a higher numerical gear ration like 6:1
