How about to display the time of the last post close to the directory name in the main directory (where all the makes/forums are listed)? Just an idea.
Other solutions are welcome as I think I'm not the only one who thinks that nav should be improved in some way as the forum is hardly segmented...

that sounds like a good idea. I was thinking that maybe you also could create something like at the beginning page, you could have a member sign-in and after you sign in, you would be taken to the forum list, that way you never have to sign in again when you post a new topic. That gets kinda tiring. Also, it would be cool if each member could change their forum list to only the ones they care about.

The problem is that we can't see what exactley is new in the particular forum 'cause of the subforums. And in the main directory we have just the red dot. So will have to clarify it in one way or another
