Chrome-plated car?

Just an unusual idea that crossed my mind. Has anyone every thought of chrome-plating a car body, just like some of the cars we see in auto shows?

No...although I did use Plastikote Bumper Chrome as a base for my 300ZX candy blue color. (It doesn't look like real chrome afterwards, it just looks real shiny).

Tamiya is releasing several "silver plated" vehicles in August (according to the "Future Releases" page at the HLJ.com website. The Tamiya site doesn't have pictures posted yet. I imajine an F1 car would look really cool, but that wouldn't be true to the carbon fibre construction of the body. I think most 1/24 cars would look too much like kids' toys. EXOTO made a POLISHED ALUMINUM Cobra Daytona in 1/8 that looks really hot. Check out eBay for a look.

Once when I was looking for diecast 300ZX models, I came across some models that were chrome plated. I think one was a Porsche. Ii can't remember the site, though. Somewhere is my loooooooong list of favorites.
