Question 88'civic got spark,air,fuelbutwon't start

the car ran fine but sat for about 25 days. went to start and to my suprise not combustion. engine turns but that is all. fuel was on "E" so *I put about 3 gal in and nothing.
*checked plugs and replaced them and wires...nothing
*visually checked for spark at plug with each wire-got orangespark.
*can hear fuelpump upon turning key in ignition.
*replaced fuel filter...nothing
*recharged battery since by now I had drained it down...nothing
*replaced air filter and inspected air flow path.. clear...but nothing
*pulled out fuel injectors saw fuel between both seals not really sure what I was supposed to be looking for but everything looked clean. all the wire connections in the vacinity looked good. nothing

So I have been told it could be my distributor, or my injectors themselves, or the electrical portion of the fuel injection which tells the injectors to fire; however, I don't know how to check these things. If it is something I can do I will do it I just need direction. If it is beyond my ability then I need to know the best road to turn. Thanks for your patience with my lenthy description. If you have any helpful tips please share them.

if ur plugs are getting spark then your distro is working, however it may have fallen out of time with itself, check the timing of your engine and make sure it is within spec, cuz if the spark is firing with no air/fuel in the chamber, then the engine wont start.

if you would like to know if your fuel injectors are working correctly, you need to find your fuel pressure and check for your injectors opening. the best way to check fuel pressure is at the pressure release on the fuel filter lines. the best way to check to see if your injectors are opening is to first measure continuity over the injector. take a miltimeter and set it for the setting that beeps when you put your two probes together. remove the wire plug to your injectors and put one probe to one injestor wire and one probe to the other injector wire. dont put them in the connector wires but on the wires that are actually on the injectors. if they dont beep then they are bad. next you can use what is called a noid light to check for the computer actually telling your injectors to open. it is a 20 dollar tool that plugs into where your injector should go. it should flash when you crank the engine. last but not least, to check for proper spark, remove a plug and hold it aginst the block with PLASTIC pliers or it will shock you. check for spark. also use a timing light to make sure it is timed and try removing your distributor cap and making sure your rotor actually spins to make sure you didnt snap a timing belt. if you give me more info i can try and lead you in a better direction.

hope this helps.

dont forget that it is real easy to put bad gas in your tank if you are putting it in from a gas jug and not at the gas station. jugs accumulate water and debris very easily.

If your getting fuel and spark. Check your timing belt and your ignition timing. When you turn it over does it make a loud popping sound out of the intake manifold. If it does then your ignition timing is 180 out. Also have you checked your firing order. What about your computer is it throwing codes.
