Clicking Sound

In my 94 Toyota Pick up, Ex cab, 4X4 I have developed a noise that appears to be coming from the rear seating area inside the truck that will occasionly sound like a rachet clicking. It will be intermitting and will last from 2 or thtee clicks to sometimes 10 or 20 clicks but never long enough for me to diagnose where it's coming from. Sometime louder than others and never when I'm trying to locate it. Has no noteable causes just at random times!! Anyone had this problem or been able to find out what is causing it. It's about to drive me crazy even though no further than I'd have to go to be there, I could walk!! Thanks!!

Re: Clicking Sound

Seat belt retractors have a ratchet in them that activates once the shoulder belt has been pulled all the way out.

Re: Clicking Sound

That's the only conclusion that I've come to but just can't document it. Thanks for the reply!!
