01 Accord Headers
Hey I was looking into getting headers for my 4cyl accord. I already have a CAI and im looking to complete the rest of the exhaust work. What type of headers should I be looking for? I have noticed there are some that cost $200-300 and some on ebay that cost around $80. Does anyone know what type of quality and how well those ebay headers are engineered. If i can save that much money and lose maybe 2-3 hp compared to the more expensive models I might think to go with the cheaper ones.

Re: 01 Accord Headers
You are paying for quality. DC Sports is a very common brand to get for the four bangers. I don't remember who else makes them, but give me a little while and I'll have a list of brands and prices.
DC Sports Ceramic - $356.65 DC Sports Stainless Steel - $642.32 Matrix - $319.90 Neuspeed Ceramic - $289.00 Kamikaze - $340.00 |

Re: 01 Accord Headers
How good are the OBX headers? Ive found prices for about half of the DC Sports quote you gave. Also, do you know if they are CARB exempt? And if they are not, does that mean I will definitely fail an emissions test? I live in maryland

Re: 01 Accord Headers
If you still have your Cat, you shouldn't fail. Also, my friend with a Mitsu had tons of fitment issues with OBX products (take that for what it's worth).

Re: 01 Accord Headers
I have a Megan header on my car.
I had a DC-S Header but it was making a whizzling sound when I'm heavy on the throttle. So I took it off amd got a Megan Header. Ran me about $150 and I installed it my self. Here's a few pics Megan Header Installing the Megan header During Start up 2 minutes after start up 4 minutes after start up After teh 20 minute drive home

Re: 01 Accord Headers
OBX is crap. Megan seems to be kind of hit or miss, but I supposed they are getting better. honestly I woulnt buy a header, since money seems to be an issue. you would be better off doing something maintinence-wise. Dont let the marketing fool you. UP TO 30 HP!!!! Yeah, on a turbo STi with every other modification. Honda, you're lucky to see 15, and thats high.
But if you really want it, DC is good, or if you want to save money, Megan might be worth it. Most hondas, with stock or few mods to the engine will only see 15-30HP from a full exhaust system. Maybe more with a V6. But for the money you spend, you could do like a full tune up and replacement of a lot of wear items, and save tons of money down the road.
