2006 WRX VS 2006 STi

I wanna know what's the detail difference between the 2. beside being able to control the center diff, and a 300hp motor, 6speed tran, what else is different?

And, the most important of all....is it worth the extra 9,000USD? or is it worth buying a low mile second hand STi?

Re: 2006 WRX VS 2006 STi

I heard about a great website which lists all the differences, but it's actually a top secret site so I can get in trouble for posting it here, it's called http://www.subaru.com

Re: 2006 WRX VS 2006 STi

I'd get a bug-eye STi...the first one that came with a 6-speed (I have no idea how it was marketed, if at all, in the USA). But imo, the 2L STi's are far superior. They have more of the rally heritage and they have forged internals.

stupidity strikes again.....please, do a serious search. Also, if you dont know the difference between the two cars, it means you dont need to get one.

There was no USDM '02 or '03 STi. Therefore, there was no 6 speed Impreza in '02 or '03. Wow......

If you did, it doesn't show. Subaru have a comparison feature on their site which allows you to do a comparison between the two.

The WRX has always had cast internals, nd yes, Subaru did something weird by switching the new STi's to cast internals.

Takeittothetrack, I apologise for not knowing how subaru markets their cars in america to the tee.

I don't know why you guys are being so harsh on this guy, I think he wants to know a bit more than the hp and tq diff between the two engines.

Re: 2006 WRX VS 2006 STi

u ever use the comparision page? it have nothing on the detail of the engine just the spec...http://www.subaru.com/tools/comparat...aModelCode=6JJ

in that site both were label using the same 2.5-liter DOHC intercooled turbocharged aluminum-alloy horizontally opposed Subaru Boxer engine.

Plz show me...where in the bloody comparision site of subaru mention anything about the engine being different? so are u saying that the engine are the same running different boost? huh!? if so couldn't u just say yes? are all the WRX owner in US jackass like u?

Sorry, but when you ask questions without specifying what you're looking for, how do you expect to receive the exact answer you want.

The Subaru site gives you the man-on-the-street comparison of the cars, Joe Spitz's website gives a more in depth comparison:
http://www.cars101.com/subaru/impreza/wrxsti2006.html

I may come over as a jackass, but I get as frustrated at questions which aren't specific as you do at not getting your specific answer. I apologise.

Re: 2006 WRX VS 2006 STi

since you dont want to search, I'll give you the answer about the "boost":

WRX turbo- TD04
STi turbo- VF39

I think thats correct. Do you really think though that subaru is just going to make two cars with an $8000 price difference and make it so all you have to do is upgrade the turbo to make the cheaper one exactly the same as the expensive one? logic man....LOGIC...our world needs more people that use it

I think you're getting cranky in ur old age ray =P. But you can see from him being a pretty regular member that he wants to know more than hp and tq figures. I chose to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Of course not that's why he asked the question. He wants to know all the differences between the two. Not just some crap u can get off the subaru website.

If you weren't such a jackass and lashed out at him and just explained to him the differences there would be no need for any hostility. You obviously know some good stuff, but if you can't intelligibly get your info across without flaming people, then you're useless.

Ray I can understand because we get idiots on here all the time. But you being a n00b you have no right to flame someone for asking a question with answers that are not readily available. If you can't be bothered to explain to people something, leave it at that.

The arrogance you have displayed over the 5 or so posts you have posted goes to show a lot. Yes you know stuff, yes you know more, but it doesn't mean you have to laud it over ppl like you're king shit. As I said before, if you can't discuss things in a civil manner, your knowledge is useless.

And if you want to talk about logic. What's more logical. To provide a member with info you know off the top of your head? Or to flame him and waste the same amount of time?
