House style

Does anyone know the name - if there is a name - of this style of house? Dark stone/brick, dark shingles, dark siding beams, light siding...

I want one. That one needs a few more chimneys though.

Tudor: http://tudor.coolhouseplans.com/

I always thought they were very Bavarian-looking. Never would want to own one, personally, though.

Re: House style

I've always liked Tudor style houses myself. However, if I had millions to spend it would most definately be Mediterranean style.

Re: House style

The only thing I don't like bout that house is the crosshatch going on the mid section of the left side. I love the brick and roof and everything else though

Re: House style

Sweet...Tudor it is. I want one nestled into a several acre hardwood forest. A three or four car garage would be nice on it too.

Oh, and hidden passages and swirling fireplaces and such.

And old English swords crossed over at least one of the fireplaces.

Ooo and a big study with a mahogany desk and big leather chair with a zillion buttons on it.

I know it's British (the Tudor family) but I always thought they looked Bavarian -- the style just seems like something that belongs deep in the Black Forest.

I agree..in fact before I posted this I looked up Black Forest houses thinking that's what Tudor houses were. Black Forest houses are those silly looking ones with the rooves that go down to the ground on each side though
