Supercharger/Tubro

I know in order to super or turbo a GT I would need all sorts of stuf like the heads, fuel pump, heavy trans. Is there any way to throw a super or turbo on without getting into all that other stuff? Or am I just going to blow the trans and other things? I am now regretting getting a GT.

Re: Supercharger/Tubro

Skip the supercharger and go with a Turbo and 4T65E HD tranny upgrade like at ZZP.

Shop around for a GTP if you are not happy with your GT.

Re: Supercharger/Tubro

What else would I have to mod besides getting a new tranny? I am very happy with my car I just wish it was quicker. What is the ZZP website?

Re: Supercharger/Tubro

The ZZP SS route doesn't look that bad but I don't know of anyone that bought one and successfully installed one. It does look limited.

The ZZP SS supercharger kit and conversion only runs 5 psi boost so I don't think that a tranny swap is necessary. The ZZP HD upgrade kit has the beefier differential and passenger side axle shaft which is recommended.

BTW - On the ZZP SS kit read the fine print. A lot of other things are required in addition to the $200 kit including lots of elbow grease. My total comes out to around $1300 not counting core exchange on parts and machining work required which is really not that bad for 60 hp and maybe a 1/2 second better ET.

Billet Fuel Logs - $379
Intake - $75
M90 Supercharger - $200
SC Pulley - $129
SS Install kit - $200

and

L36 Stage 1 Throttle body - $179
L67 33 lb fuel injectors - $159

BTW - The stock fuel injectors are 21 lbs and will limit the full potential of the mod. However, the PCM will require custom programming to support them which will cost more.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Yes, you can thank TheBlurr. I guess he keeps track of this stuff since he has a L36 Grand Prix. Best thing to do is checkout the link he posted and then rely on ZZP tech support for all answers to your questions. At least there is hope at a fair price. I'd consider something like that for my L36 Regal LS but I don't think my wife would like me tinkering with her car....lol.

BTW - Looks like all the accessory items are included in the kit. Good luck!

If it ain't broke, it probably shouldn't be fixed. Everytime I work on my girlfriend's Jimmy it seems like I dork something up. Completely stock usually works out best for a woman.

Ain't that the truth...lol. As long as it runs, is serviced properly and gets good gas mileage thats all that counts.

Looks quite impressive to me.

Pay special attention to the requirement to run L67 fuel injectors to get that end result as I mentioned earlier. The L67 injectors flow 33 lbs per hour. Weird seeing one serpentine drive belt run all.
