Question How much Bass do YOU have?

I just custom built a box with 2 10" polk audio GNX subs behind the seats. Fabricated in the where the rear compartments were. Looks bad ass and thumps hard as shit. Does anyone else have a kick ass setup in there sol.

i would have a kick ass setup if i had better equipment to put into it. as for now there is no sense in making my crappy stuff look nice. i was thinking about doing that, but the security thing entered my mind. i like keeping the inside of my car looking stock so i can leave the top off and feel a little better about my stuff being there when i get back. post some pics and a short description of what you did to give us some idea of what is involved in that.

well i have neither a digital camera or scanner so i can't really get pics up. But what i did do is went to a local scrap yard and found a rear deck or the piece with the lock compartments in it. I took the same piece out of my del sol to make shure it was the same size and didn't get distorted in the yard. But figured out the largest i could make a box to fit in the area given. Made a farely ordinary hatch style box and began to cut up the piece from the yard. All that i had left was the very front were it conects to the center console and screws into behind the seats. Also the tabs on the side. Did a little wood patch and cilicone work to smooth things out. cut a few wholes for the speakers and terminals and layed down the carpet recieved everything from crutchfield. Except wood, patch, and other raw material. was done in a week.

thats a good idea getting a bin from a junkyard for a mold for the box. how much does one of those cost? the volume of the box would be interesting to know, ive been wondering what would fit back there.

I had about 1.3 cubic ft W37", H10", BD9.5", TD4" or it was close to those dimension don't remember exactly but it looks bad ass and perfect size for the Polk GNX 10" subs.

Only problem with 1 12" is that i don't believe there would be anough depth it is a really shallow box. But if you can squeeze it go for it.

How did you find the room for the boxes they have to require massive space. Pics, Specs, or what you did to get them behind seats would be great. I have heard that set up in my friends eclipse and it sounds bad ass but the boxes there in are huge.

no pix but had to cut the back part. so the box goes all the way into the trunk. cant roll down the back window anymore but it was worth it.

Damn not a bad idea. Has to suck to have the top off and the back window not down. But great idea major props.

not bad. i like how the box has the center console part on it still. i would like it better if it wasnt so square at the top, but was more flush with the back panels. good job nonetheless.
