WIP, Aoshima Hilux Double Cab Lift Up..my return to building models

Hey guys,
been a lurker for a while and have watched many exciting builds happen here, time to include one of my own(and certainly not the last) I've moved recently and now finally have a bench to build at, and i'm building this to refresh my skills some before I take on the more ambitious projects i've got planned down the road. this is the first i've worked on in about 4 years, but i've not finished one in about 9 or 10 so i've got some catching up to do.

heres some shots of the finished chassis and interior, this weekend I plan to prime the body and get it ready for color coats...not really sure yet on the color though. The grill, bumpers, and mirrors though will be stripped of chrome and painted semi gloss black. Overall this has been a great kit, but all the chrome for the suspension parts really got on my nerves..lol

enjoy...comments and critiques welcome

Gray

Wahoo, a truck! I would putty and smooth the seams of the pieces for the front seats. Chassis looks great!

Re: WIP, Aoshima Hilux Double Cab Lift Up..my return to building models

whats up guys, made some progress on this one finally, its close to being finished...

I painted it this weekend with some testors colors by boyd ice blue pearl shot from the airbrush. I'd suggest to anyone who wants to use this color...shoot it over something other than gray primer......this stuff goes on thin, and it took 2 different times to get it all matched up. I also did the one thing I always hated to do, paint the window trims, you can see from the pic that the drivers side came out ok, but the passenger side looks a bit worse. All I can say is that i've got to practice more(remember its been a few years since the last time I built anything). The bumper, grill, and mirrors were stripped of thier chrome and will be either painted black or gunmetal colored metalizer.

anyway here are the pics...

thanks for looking,
Gray
