What the crap?

The taillights on my ranger don't work. The brake lights work ff the same bulb, and they work, so its not the bulbs and i wouldn't imagine wiring. The marker lights are on the same fuse, and they work, so it's not the fuse. Does anyone have any idea what the heck is wrong with this thing? I'm clueless.

Re: What the crap?

Duel filliment bulb, its possable for the tail lights to be burnt out and the brake lights to still work. Although it is rare for both sides to go out at the same time. (you didnt say they did or didnt). If it isnt the bulbs them the next place I would go to would be wiring.

Re: What the crap?

The turn signals and brake lights use the same filament. The running lights use a separate filament. Since both sides went at once its doubtful that its the bulbs, however quite possible. Test the contacts in the socket for juice. If they're getting none, trace the wire all the way to the fuse panel until you find power and fix the connection that is causing the problem.

Its vaguely possible that its a fuse and they're easy to check. Might try that first.
