First of all, what is a B16C-R? I've heard of the B18C5 which comes out of the Integra Type R but I don't recall a B16c engine.
If its the B18C5 that you are talking about, they do cost a hefty amount of money. But the C5 also has around 190 HP. Over at www.hondamotorsonline.com, they have the c5 engine for 4800 plus shipping (as of 7/4/02) Now you can also see the B16A SIR II engine in there. Thats a lot cheaper ($2350) and is a more common swap. If you don't have the extra 2,450 dollars, you could just get a B16A and have around 160 HP. Go to this thread http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t43528.html and scroll down and see a post by S2Ksol. Read that and it'll cover all the common engine swaps. Good luck! And post pics if you have them! :ylsuper |

Re: Swap B16C-R????
I too havbe heard someone mention a B16C and I have yet to find it. I was told it was J-spec and was never put in any Hondas in the USA. I was told it got about 200HP and when I was told about it I was going to look for one for my CRX project car. Still haven't been able to find it though. Maybe the guy was confused?

Re: Swap B16C-R????
b16c-r engine sounds made up. there is a b16b engine that came in the civic type r, which might be what they are talking about. that had about 180hp if i remember correctly, which is definitely not bad for a 1.6l engine. would still be smarter to get a normal b16 and modify from there.
