Well, think about it. If you were going to travel around the globe in a balloon, how much do you think it would cost... I believe he spends millions for each attempt... He's got all kinds of support crews in various countries that he has to pay, not to mention the cost for the balloon itself (which looks pretty damn hi-tech), plus all his operating costs and permits and all kinds of other shit that I can't even begin to imagine... But this is his SIXTH attempt... That means that for his first 5 attempts, he just pissed his money away on nothing other than making himself feel like he's accomplishing something important by floating around in a bigass balloon. Millions and millions of dollars... [poof]gone[/poof]

I was just thinking about how much i hated this moron a few days ago. he's wasting his money just so he can say he ballooned around the world, whoop-d freaking doo. he should spend his money more wisely like this guy that lives by me. i drove past his house yesterday and what do i see? huge jeep wrangler with 6 inch lift, new black Audi S4 and in the garage a black Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina and parked right next to it a red Ferrari 288 GTO. not to mention about 10 crotch rockets scattered around the garage.

EDIT i forgot to mention that he also drives a land rover defender 110, his other son drives a defender 90 and his wife drives a white E55 AMG.

If you had millions and spent tons and tons of money on cars (which is what I would do aswell) one who does not share our appretiation for cars could say "Look at that asshole, he spends more money then I could ever dream of having on his cars! I say it's his money, let him do what he wants. Atleast he's not flying around in a ballon that says "Fuck you I'm rich, your not!" on it

The fact that he's spending money is GREAT. By doing so, he's creating jobs: for the people in his ground crews, for people that manufacture hot-air-balloon fuel, for people who make balloons for rich folk. Without rich people 'throwing away money' how would the hot-air balloon people make as much money? It's trickle-down economics, folks. Since rich man buys balloon, balloon man has money to spend at grocery store, so grocery store has money to buy veggies from farmers, so farmers have money to buy clothes from store, so store has money to buy fabric from fabric mill, so fabric mill has money to buy cotton from cotton pickers, so cotton pickers have money to buy houses from house builders, so house builders have money to buy lumber from lumberyard, so lumberyard has money to buy trees from lumberjacks, so lumberjacks have money to buy new trucks, so truck companies have money to buy steel from steel mills, so steel mills have money to pay workers, so workers have money to buy internet access, and spend all of their time clicking on banner ads on AF, so AF is profitable, so everyone gets to talk about cars and complain about nothing and everything for free. So, you see, he's doing us a favor by throwing money at hot-air ballooning. The worst thing he could do would be to just sit on that money and save it.
