Painting with spray guns?

Hi guys!

I started using Createx Automotive paint with my airbrush but I got problems with some colors, because my airbrush is too small, I got a .3mm nozzle...

On the box, they said a 1mm nozzle should be use. So I was wondering if any of you guys paint with spray guns, something like this :

Does it works good? Does it have any advantage over a regular airbrush?

Thanks!

Re: Painting with spray guns?

Haven't ever tried it, but I always figured it would be like trying to brushpaint with a wall roller.

I would think a larger size nozzle for your airbrush, or using more thinner, wuld be a better option. What kind of airbrush do you have?

I got a Badger 360. Don't know if there is bigger nozzle for this type of airbrush...

You should check their website, I am sure it will tell you if other parts are available: http://www.badger-airbrush.com/

Re: Painting with spray guns?

Using spray guns is extreme overkill for anything smaller than 1/12. You'll usually lay on way too much paint.

He said he has a .3 needle, and it tells him to use a 1mm needle. So, I don't think he has the .5 needle...

Re: Painting with spray guns?

Maybe I have a .5mm needle, not sure about it. But I guess you're right, I don't even use full opening when I paint, maybe this is the problem...

hawkone, can you give me the link to this tutorial, I didn't find it. Just copy the link and paste it here, even if the hyperlink is not working, I can copy and paste the address :-)

I gonna try different combination and look at the result, thanks a lot to all of you!
