1992 Delta 88 - Replace Front Pass. Fender?

Hello all - did a search and have not found anyone addressing this... soooo...

Have a 1992 Delta 88.... front right fender is dented along the edge where the fender meets the passenger door, sigh. Anyone ever replaced one of these? If so, could you please let me know how you did it?

I can pick up a fender from the JY for $65.00 but don't know yet whats involved in replacing...

Also, are all the '92 Delta 88 front fenders "plastic"? The ones on this car (my mother's - she bought it 5 years ago from dealer... ) are?

Thanks either way folks. Appreciate it.

Ron

From my understanding if it is plastic, it just bolts in with torx bolts. Just like all fenders do. Now rear quarter panels are a different story!

Yes, torx bolts, actually it's somewhere in teh ballpark of a t-30 bit that does it, pop the hood and you'll see them runnign along the side, after those are out, you remove the tire, and the inner fender well, there are two bolts attaching the fender to the front bumper there, and in the back near the door is a y-shaped bracket that un bolts and releases the back section of the fender, carefully remove the bottom trim moulding with a pair of needle nose pliers, the clips bend out and releases the back of the fender. Next pull out the pass side head light assembly, very easy to do, the two large black circle caps thumb out... then you have to take the front corner assembly out (looks like a light is on some cars) generally installed with 10mm bolts.. after this is done you will see that the fender will lift upward and forward off the centering pins and off the car. Reverse process to install new fender!

I had the same thing with my olds... lsot a rim, broke all 5 wheel studs and it dropped the car on her frame trashing my front driver's side fender.. went to pullapart (www.pullapart.com) paid 35.00 for the new fender intalled it and got a pinstriping kit from autozone, can't even tell she did it!

Good luck and thank god your not replacing a rear 1/4 panel
