dupicolor automotive spray and tamiya spray
hi guys. are these two paints compatible? i was planning on using tamiya as a base coat then going over it with the dupicolor, and then using tamiya's clear coat on top. have any of you tried this without any problems?

i don't think it should be a problem...
the tamiya is a synthetic lacquer, the duplicolor is a regular lacquer.... lacquer over a synthetic lacquer should be ok... but as always, you might want to test on a scrap piece first and see what happens.. oh.. and wear a respirator

I don't mix brands normally, but it could work. You just need to test whatever you're doing on a scrap piece of plastic first.

also
put the base coat on and then let it cure like maybe a week or longer so the gases have enough time to escape before u put the next coat then do the same for the top coat and then the clear.. |

Duplicolor paint is acrylic, and the only thing it goes over is acrylic paint. So I would expect it to be quie bad when trying o go over Tamiya spraypaint.
