performance suspension

yea i recently switched from tuning hondas to tuning my newly acquired gsx. i was wondering if nebody could give me pointers on the absolute best suspension components...the application will obviously be for street racing, so i need cornering thats out of this world, stability...all that good stuff...does nebody know the best mixture of components, and the best name in the parts themselves? thanks for the help~

Re: performance suspension

Well...

I use Koni struts with skunk 2 coilovers. It's pretty pricey but i'm pretty happy with the setup. The car handles like it's on skates, took an onramp at 80 miles an hour like i was slicing through butter.

Re: performance suspension

If you can lay down for them, I would get some coilovers. You can get Megan Racing coilovers for ~$850 on ebay, hell of a deal IMO. Other than that, I would go for Eibach springs (Pro kit = 1.2" drop IIRC and Sportline = ~2" drop IIRC) and either Koni Yellows, KYB AGX's, or Tokico Illuminas.

Why did you post this in two places? That's against the rules. Josh or Shpyder, delete the one in the main forum.

Re: performance suspension

Posting twice, argh.

Give us your car, budget, and expectations. Also do a little reading first, which will help you ask better questions, and in-turn get more useful feedback.

Re: performance suspension

Me personally, I'm going to get the Tein Super Street coilovers with pillowball mounts. The reason I am getting these is because I like the green color that they come in, lol, and because they are adjustable in ride height and damping. The price for these w/out pillowball mounts is around $850 - $900 I believe, and w/pillowballs is like $1,150. Tein also has what is called a "basic damper" which is only adjustable in ride height. These go for around $650-$700 I think.

Re: performance suspension

Sounds like a good setup. I'm pretty happy with my tikicos because well they were free came with the car and a camber kit. They ride kind of rough but it handles like a Porsche
