Celica ST185 info

Does anyone know if the Repsol sponsored ST185 Celica ever ran in any rally using the wheels shown on the Castrol sponsored car below???? The only pics I have ever seen of the Repsol sponsored car always show it with the closed type wheels.Does anyone know any different???
Any help is appreciated.Thanks Steve.

Re: Celica ST185 info

I believe even the tarmac version used the wheels similar to the safari version above shows.
I will do some checking.

Re: Celica ST185 info

The 1992 version (illustrated in the Safari Car) didn't used the same type of wheels used on the 1993 version (Castrol sponsered) on tarmac events. While the 1993 version used on gravel events the same type of wheels used during 1992.
Great source for pictures are Rally Car, Rallye, 40 Years of Rally Motorsport books. Also I will try to locate a website which has lots of pictures for the car from 1992 and 1993 seasons.

Hope this answer your question.

Cheers

Thanks for the replies guys.I had a feeling it didn't use those open face wheels like on the Castrol car.If you can find me that website with pictures from the 1992-1993 seasons that would be a great help as I'm struggling to find any decent pictures of the car. Many thanks,Steve.

1992 season tarmac wheels looks like Escort Cosworth OZ wheels. Ithink they are the same
