Re: Amt 300c

Its not a bad kit, It has a few shortcomings but its generally pretty good.

Clear parts will require some serious polishing though, looks like the molds weren't finished properly and have a lot of light scratches on both sides, very thick too.

If this subject interests you dont be put off, I really think you will like this kit.

I'm just adding the finishing touches to mine right now, should have some pics up in the next day or so.

Regards, Dan

Re: Amt 300c

I like this kit, I got mine back on Monday. its a fairly decent kit, not Tamiya quality, but good. ALOT better then the Eclipse. and on the same level as the Supra. some details are soft. and the motors got some issues, mainly the headers, which are supposed to be attached to the cylinder heads, not the block. The interior is good too, its got some good detailing, and the dash is two pieces which makes painting easier. There is too much crome though, most of those parts should not be on the crome tree. but its not a major issue, 15 minutes in CSC will take car of that. The grill with the holes cut out is a fantastic touch, alittle thick but it should look good on the model. hopefully The Model Car Garage will give us a Photoecthed kit for this kit, it will really help this kit shine. this is deffinently a step in the right direction for AMT. a company that has to recoup itself after the boxart fiasco there going through. This kit has terrible box art BTW. They need to go back to the way they where doing boxart back in the 90's, the car on the boxart needs some help, or a better photographer

Re: Amt 300c

Thanks for the pics; this is going to be a popular kit! I'm looking forward to getting a few.

So who else is planning to combine this w/the Revell Magnum to make the Euro-spec 300C Touring? Since the Revell Magnum will be an SRT (and I'm sure the motor will be a LOT better than AMT's), I guess it'll just have to be an SRT8 Touring

Cool....I can't tell from the pictures, but I'm assuming this doesnt come with a hemi? If it does and it's decent quality it might be worth picking up....

Hehe, sounds like a plan to me! Maybe, if they come out with a Charger, I'll do this (it's a Photoshop I did a while ago), too. Have two good looking cars from two bad ones

Re: Amt 300c

chrome work looks half decent, so does the interior. Can't wait to build one.

The Charger is on its way, from Testors..... standard, R/T and police versions.

The one on the Revell catalogue pictures is only an R/T and not an SRT-8. So I am not sure what is coming from Revell, we will see. I work for Chrysler and I would have rather seen SRT versions of all three, the 300, Magnum and Charger. It's the subtle differences in an SRT version that just makes these already cool cars that much better.

EDIT I meant to say that the Revell catalogue picture is an SRT but is listed as an R/T.

Oh God... a 300C Touring and a Charger R/T Touring are gonna look wicked!

... as if I didn't have enough projects or few enough dollars in my wallet as is...
