General Ramblings...
Hi all,
I'm getting closer to modelling nirvana...! Luckily enough I'm self-employed. So I today I decided, "screw it, I'm doing models at the office!". So here I am, having busted my butt to get all my main work done early, and I'm now setup (before lunch even!) with my sanding cloths, tray of water, Tamiya polishing compound of various types, and my FW13B engine cowling... and a polishing we shall go!!! On a slightly different note, something which you may be able to sympathise with or laugh at... I've been working on a very small, fiddly part, trying my hardest to get a good coat of paint down on it, and give it a bit of shine/gloss effect. I'd finally succeeded after many weeks, and was putting a spot of glue on it to fasten it into place, when... PLOP! I dropped it... RIGHT IN THE FR!GG!NG GLUE POT! LOL I did laugh actually... probably because it sent me insane for a moment more than anything else. Later that night I was also spraying a top coat on the Williams engine cowling. I don't have a spray booth unfortunately, and basically spray with a reasonably strong light behind me. This does tend to attract the bugs however, and as I was getting to the final stages of top-coating a beautiful, shiney red insect flew into the spray of the airbrush, and I shot him straight into my top coat... "YOU LITTLE MUTHA!" As nice a mural as he made in the white paint, I had to remove him. Or most of him anyway... I finally resorted to covering some 'remains' with white paint, which has worked out nicely actually. Anyway, that's my modelling craziness over the past 24hours. Just thought I'd post it for no good reason. Happy modelling all! Mark Last edited by Captain Mark; 02-15-2006 at 04:03 PM. |

Re: General Ramblings...
Im getting in the modeling spirit these days too. Ironically, the less updates I post, the more I build.

If I could find some time away from my work, I may take up modeling again....

Re: General Ramblings...
I laughed out loud at the dropping the part inthe glue pot bit!
![]() I understand exactly what that would have felt like.

Re: General Ramblings...
Mark, nice to see your building. The glue pot drop is unfortunate..most of the things I drop are crucial photo-etch parts never to be seen again!
We'll have to catch up so I can see this Williams?

Re: General Ramblings...
Laughing my butt off.
Mark, I can relate to one degree or another. As I think of it now, the madder I got the funnier it was... That is now, not when it was happening...

LOL...
I really like your story, as I can really relate to it a lot. This kind of stuff happen to me all the time too. It seems like the harder you try, the easier a screw up accident happens. Winston |
