Honda's and whatnot...
New to the forum, so don't be too harsh.
I hear a lot of people talking about Honda's and Acura's and the whole teenage tuning scene. Well, I agree and disagree that it sucks. It sucks because most of these people think that they are the fastest in the land. They get a big attitude about it as well. But it doesn't suck because Skyline's are expensive. I made my first payment on a R34 today in the form of a $2 lotto ticket But a Honda or Integra is within reach. I am going to drive my current POS and save for a Skyline, but the Honda tuning scene is better than nothing. Otherwise what would you have to beat in a race?

First off, Welcome to AF
I'm don't think this is the right forum for the post, But you mentioned Skylines so I suppose it's all good ![]() Any how, I don't have a problem with Hondas, I don't have a problem with teenage car tuners. I think it's great that some people want to take a car that wasn't necessaraly a performance car and make it faster. It's even great of mom and dad bought you a civic and you go about it the right way and make it quick. Whatever cars ya like, it's all good because taste is taste and different people like different things. Now what I do have problem with is this. Let me first preface this with a little info. In Japan there is a differentiation between whats fast, and whats flashy. There are both kinds but they know the differents between looks and performance. Your average kid today doesn't. Sure they know a really fast car when they see one, but they don't know the right way to go about making the civic their parents bought them (Or that they bought) fast. They confuse looks with speed and in doing so think that ust because they look fast, that they are fast. Now this isn't really what I have a problem with either, if you just think your fast.. Well your in for a rude awakening someday But the "I'm faster then everything because I have 300lbs of extra bodykit, a cat back, and sparkplug wires" thats what I have a problem with. Now I don't go out looking for people to race so I don't really ever have any close encounters with these guys, but I see them everwere, they cut me off in traffic, I flip them off alot I really just wish they could wake the fuck up, do some research, and find out how to do things right. That would mean alot more interesting people to meet and interesting cars to look at and talk about.Anywho, thats my opinion on the subject of "Boy Racers" or whatever you wanna callum, ricers... Whatever

In the states, where Honda hasnt exactly been good at introducing performance models then I can see why ppl have a hard time with working over Civics, and trying to turn them into performance cars.
Its something the models sold in the states were never intended to be, and IMO its a complete waste of time. Especialy when V8's are so common, cheap and VERY easy to tune. I know if I lived in the states a Honda Civic if the last car I would look at buying. However here in NZ, a country filled with Japanese performance cars I can own one of the few Honda models made with performance as its main goal. Its not quick by some standards, but it will walk on any non-Turbo skyline, and will comfterbly scare an R32 GTs-t. That said if I could Afford any model GTR I would own it over almost any Honda model short of an S2000 or an NSX. Whether you get into the tuning scene is intierly up to you. You can buy a nice GSR integra for ok money, it will be quick, handle well and if you maintian it run for ever. And it will do all this with no mods while you save for an imported skyline. or you could buy an old 89 Civic si and swap any of the Motors avlaible form Japan into it. Do it propperly and you can have a unique and fast car. Or you could buy any of the US domestic cars and do what you want with it. Wether its a Big V8 or straight 6.
