short to no relationships?

cool, new sub forum, and i'm the first thread. suck on that! suck it long, suck it hard!

...right, here's something i'd like to discuss:

does anyone here have very very short relationships? i mean, me as an example, after college started, i've been just kinda having fun, never looking for a relationship. is that normal with everyone here? i mean, it'd be nice to actually have a gf again, you know, someone to relaly love, but i mean, i have a lot of chic friends who i do that caring bs for, and i'm having way too much fun drinking, getting laid, waking up, and running away. not really something healthy i guess. seriously though, i haven't wanted a gf in a while, and now i'm thinking it'd be nice, its somehting i'm missing in my life, u know? maybe cuz February just rollled around, and the 14th is just coming up fast, lol

. anybody ever in this position and now a good person with a good gf and a good life have advise on how to stop being so typical college kid?
(i'm pretty stoned and hope this thread makes sense. it does for me. all of a sudden, i'm in this whole looking at my life thing right now with relationships, future, school, etc... wierd.)

I'd say don't really worry about it, you'll find one that you'll want to keep around eventually but till then you'r still in college enjoy it while you can.
I've been seperated/divorced since Aug. and I took a break from it all for a month to get my shit straight. Well since then I have had 3 gf's and the longest one was 3 wks. They kept complaining i wouldn't spend much time with them. Tried explaining I got my daughter and i don't really want a gf around her so much so they don't get attached and she think she's her mom blah blah blah. I decided to wait till i get back into college then I'll find a gf.

i pretty much do the same thing as you and i've been thinking about a girlfriend too but i don't really care about valentines day (too broke to buy her anything anyway), i wanna hear some advice too

well being a college student i'm as broke as anyone, but its just that its nice to have a day specifically for you and a gf. given, its just a hallmark card holiday, but still. its nice... i'm so terribly lonely... lol

yeah i've noticed i have short relationships too. i go thru guys rather fast. it's like oo they want me, i get to know them better and find out they're not what i thought they were *i think it also comes from that i'm a slightly bad judge of character* and then they get pissed at me cuz i'm in love with someone else i just can't be with right now and then boom it's over. then i find a new hottie and it starts all over again. *sigh* i've given up on guys until college tho...

edit: i can't wait for valentines day! even tho i'm technically single...i still have someone to share it with, he's just 350 miles away

instead of loving an ideal for a man, and finding out that whoever you're going out with doesn't turn out to be that ideal, try learning to love the things abot whoever you are going out with. try it, just pick a guy you sorta like, go out with him, and instead of seeing similarities to your ideal man, look at the qualities that make him different and attractive.
See, my problem is i don't look at anything but what i see through beer goggles. If i were to go out with someone again, i don't set up parameters. well, ok, i do set up the shallow ones, like "no fat chicks". but otherwise, i'll go out with them, and see if i can get to like who they are, not try and hope who they might be. if they're just annoying, ditch 'em.

I'll usually get to know them for a bit first before i put on the beer goggles,
not all the time but usually, so this way i can see if it someone i'd want to have a relationship. First impressions matter alot but they are only accurate when ya'll are both sober.

i have had short relationships in the past and some long ones but i find if you're not really sure about if you want a gf or not its better just to wait because one of the worst things you can do is psh yourself into a relationship because you're sick of all the short ones because people are only going to end up getting hurt

I did that short relationship thing for a long time. Never more than 2 months/gf, ditching girls close to holidays, maybe not remembering the name of the girl you wake up next to. I have been married for almost 9 years now and I wouldn't ever go back to that life.

well at least they're short...i went on with one for 4.5 years, and now i've been single for over a year now.....and yeah it kind of sucks (i don't even get the one-night stand or anything) but at least it'll keep you richer in the wallet......

Im not the kind of person to get involved for one nighters or to fool around for a while. I'm not that kind of guy, if i find someone (and i think i have), i'm very loyal. I've done the dating thing plenty of times, but i would never take advantage of a girl.

How does one night stand = taking advantage of a girl?
