Unhappy HMMMM:

U're best Bet would be to sell the Civic u have now.. and Buy a Stick Si, that makes more sense.. the conversion will run u some money... and it will take alot of time and effort... save u'reself the time, effort, and all the complications. unless u really wanna do it... "Work smarter Not harder"

the time it takes you to take out all the mods on your car will be faster than getting the conversion. trust me on this. save the extra thousands of dollars to buy a nice engine swap or turbo, and spend the time you saved racing with your new toy. it's not worth the effort in converting.

if the tranny swap alone will cost ya 5-7k, then why not spend on like a B16 swap for like 3000 installed, and get the tranny swapped that way.

either way, the worst part of all is getting the ecu to work with the manual, putting in a new gear box, etc. sorry that it sucks so much..

5-7k is not realistic. The last time i check it was 1800 in Socal. unless you guys live somewhere else where import is limited, then it should cost you no more than 3k.
The conversion is pretty simple, it's not that hard like most people claim it is, even a guy who has the same knowledge like people who work at autozone can do this. The only downfall to the conversion is that since the car was auto to start with, doing a manual will have it's share of problems.

You are right..i did it myself I am 18 i have no mechanical schooling besides a high school engine rebuilding class....I dont know how mucht he labor is obviously but you could get all the parts for 1000 at most. If you are attached to that car and dont want to sell it and find another I suggest you do it isnt that hard it doesnt require a ton of tools. Get a helms manual study it and email me if you want a shopping list. If you are not mechanically inclined at all it still shouldnt be that bad.

You have to remember to leave your auto shifter in N when you start. It is easiest to get the shift cable off and the starter circuit wont be disrupted.

ya there is no way it would cost you 5-7k ( even if everything was mugen and coated in gold). it will cost you between $1500-1900. if it was me i would wait until i did an engine swap and then switch it to manual.
