HEY I WAS WONDERING IF THERE WAS ANYONE HERE WHO KNEW ALOT ABOUT CRX'S
I HAVE A 91 CRX THAT I WANNA DO AN ENGINE DROP ON BUT IM KINDA DEBATING ON WHAT I WANNA GET. I HAVE $2800 AND I WAS THINKING OF A B16A(2) UNTIL I HEARD OF A FRANKENSTIEN ENGINE. I DONT REALLY KNOW MUCH ABOUT IT. I WAS THINKING OF A LS LONGBLOCK AND A B16A HEAD. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW THAT WORKS AND HOW MUCH IT WILL COST. THIS WOULD REALLY HELP ME IF SOMEONE CAN TELL ME HOW IT WORKS. THANKS CARL |

first of all the b16a2 is a obd 1, which then you would have to swap your car form obd0 to obd1. then since the b16a2 came with a hydraulic trannny, you need to find a cable tranny.
yeah a ls block with a b16a1 head would be the easiest since the a1 is obd 0. but be warned that ls vtec has its problems like first the ls has a poor oiling system so if you rev past 7000 then dont expect your engine to last that long, most people use a b16 oil pump and squiters to oil the engine since the b16 is ment to rev that high, second since the ls has a bad rod ratio thingy it makes it easier to snap a rod and it puts alot of pressure on the cylinder walls. the local shop over here prices a ls vtec setup at $1500, that includes the b16 head, new oiling system and installation, ecu. |
