Got Skunk 2 Coilovers, Cars Bouncy as Hell Though, Plz Help

Hello, I've had Skunk 2 Coilovers on my car for about a month now. The did wonders for my handling but now my car is extremely bouncy. I don't bottom out though. I would just like to know if anything can be done to decrease the bounciness and will the bounciness mess up my car? FYI All of my other suspension parts are stock with 202K on them, just thought I'd throw that in. Thanx again all :frog:

1. Your shocks are blown
2. You have your coilovers on backwards(front is in rear visa versa)
3. Spring rate for coilovers are too stiff for your car(prolly coilovers made for a 92+ civic or integra)
4. Coilovers are set too low

coulda be any of these...and have a nice day
:flash:

Im assuming it's either 1 or 4 because they are for a 88-00 civic/crx and they were installed by professionals. How can I tell if they are on backwards? I raised them up about 1 1/2 inches a few days ago but that didn't really help much, so I guess its my damn shocks. That'll be expensive :-(. :frog:

id say shocks too, if they bounce more than 3 times after the intial hit, then they are gone, pick up some KYB or KONI shocks.

red racer: you shouldnt put those struts on your car if you are still dropped, they will just wear out again.

I believe some of the companies have struts for more extreme drops. All with drops more than 2.0 inches should look into something like that, sorry no links or anything.

My guess would be that your shocks are the problem. I have had friends with Skunk2's on their Civics and one was very bouncy. The other one was fine. Now, the car that was bouncy was riding on stock shocks, and the other that wasn't bouncy was riding on Tokico blues.

Not too smart! You did a half assed job! If you wanted to do your suspension you needed to replace your struts, shocks, and springs. Not just one or the other! ALL! My suspension is going to cost $680! Tokico shocks and struts, progressive (or neuspeed springs) If you are worried about how the way your car is going to handle and look, do it right. Rushing in without research is never good! Save your money and do it right the first time, it will cost you more in the end if you do cheap work with cheap parts. Not to say that ground control is cheap . Keep your coilovers they sound fine but replace your struts and shocks! You are lucky you didn't completly mess up your suspension! GOOD LUCK!
