Nissan NX

Hey guys.....me again......if you're wondering why I always start new threads asking about cars, it's because i'm in the market for another car.......don't really want to mod my bonneville too much, i'd rather buy another car cheap, and mod it...and not worry about repairs and shit...anyways....the car i'm wondering about now is the Nissan NX ..... i've seen a couple around, and they don't look that bad.....wondering if anyone wants to give me info on what the best year(s) for this car are...and specs, and how it adapts to mods, etc.
Thanks guys......i'm addicted to this site now...been looking for something like this forever...finally found it.....RESPOND!!!!!!

If you have any doubts about the performance lying dormant in the NX/Sentra, just look at D-production in SCCA Competition. There are tons of Sentras running around with the Neons in that class. They usually win, but then, that's because the top ones are usually Huffaker-built tube chassis examples.

I have something to ask you cybermikey3. I don't know cars much but since i saw initial D i started thinking about buying a car lol. I think the nissan nx fits most for me. I can't get much information on internet till i found this site.

I heard that the engine was a sr20de in the Nx ( the same as the boostable skyline engine. So fucking nice), but do you know if all the models of nissan nx have the same engine.

If i have a nissan one day, how much approx. it will cost me for the car and for the mods... i don't know much so i would appreciate it if you could give me a good site or good tips since you have a nissan nx.

Thanks
Steve

i had one right out of h.s. it cost me $5500...and the price is steady at around $5k......u can do a ff sr20det swap....they had the engine on ebay for about $700...but i did learn that the jap trannys will not fit and u have to use ur stock tranny....from what i've seen...there really isn't a huge market for them...but at least there is a small one

The SR20DE is in the same family of motors as the turbo-charged SR20DET in the JDM Silvias, and the Nissan Bluebirds and the Pulsar GTI-R.

None in the Skylines.

Only the NX2000 models came with the SR. The NX1600 came with the GA16DE motors.

NX2000/Sentra SE-Rs (that highlight dedicated to TaTII) are capable of running mid-low 15's stock. With minor bolt-ons...since these cars have notoriously restricted breathing...you can get as low mid 14's.

Don't even ask about how easy it is to swap an SR20DET in the NX2000/SE-Rs.

Lastly, the 95-98 200SX SE-Rs and all the Infiniti G20s also basically have the same motor with the same basic output. The biggest difference is that the motor is less free-revving with a lower redline (6500 vs 7500), which makes them pull just slightly less...besides the fact that they're heavier than the NX2000/SE-Rs.

^^^ I thought there was a 1.6 version, thanks for confirming that.

NissanNxManiac - The RB20DET used to come in some Skylines, which was a 2.0, but not the same as the SR20. The SR20DET most commonly came in Silvias and Bluebirds. Modern Skylines use the RB25 or RB26, both inline 6 cylinders, 2.5 liters and 2.6 liters respectively.

Again, I say go CA18DET... still a bolt in, and it's much cheaper, and has a stronger shortblock. 400hp on stock internals, not too shabby

I have been eyeing the NX lately too

You can put a turbo on anything, and the SR20 has good strong internals stock. Good for 400 or so HP anyways. And the aftermarket for the SR20 is strong.

Wow, how did this thread resurface? i made this thread like last summer when i was in the market for a second "fun" car...then i ended up just getting a plain-jane cavy, but hey, it made the most economical sense
