Radio Replacement Help

Have to replace oe factory radio/cassette/cd 2000 venture lt,found a good used oe type at the bone yard.
Does anyone here have experience with disabling and enabling the theft deterrent system in gm radios

As far as I can tell... NO. It can't be done !

The radio has the vehical vin # programed, acually hard wired (eprom). So it will read the vin # and lock it's self if it is not the orginal vehical.

Now if there is a by-pass mod out there is another question, or if it's even possible ?

I believe you will need the VIN# from the vehicle the new radio came from. Some people then go to the dealer and have it reprogrammed. I have found this site which may be of some help:http://www.radio-code.com/
