Wooo.. finally back, with a tattoo

Original image:

Final Result:

Got it done at HB Tattoo in Huntington Beach. I was in the shop maybe 3 hours, and under the needle for about an hour 45. It's scabbing and peeling right now, it looks so much different from the picture above. Most of the purple will wash out, as it's just the transfer ink, and the red towards the top is pretty much all blood.

I couldn't be more happy with it.

PS fuck texas

You know usually, you seen one tattoo you seen them all and most are not really original, but that one i've never seen before. Very original and nice design.

But damn, sitting for over an hour getting pricked, just plain sucks, although the final result is worth waiting for I guess.

TS out

Actually, I take it back. Fuck SC for letting Vince Young walk all over them.

Looks awesome. I've been thinking about getting some new ink but I don't know what to get or where to put it.

i like the final one alot better, especially the tail wrapping around the leg.

who decided to change it? you or the artist?

either way, nicely done!

if you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost? i'm going to get a large back piece done sometime in the next year and was curious about how much i'd have to spend.

Re: Wooo.. finally back, with a tattoo

I don't want to give specifics, but it was in the low two bills area. Not including tip. But this HB Tattoo shop is apparently pretty respected and high class. I guess the owner (Tony Mucci) is a big player in the tattoo industry, and he used to be apart of Skin Deep in Hawaii.

The artist had to change it to make it more tattoo friendly, then I had some suggestions of my own, and finally we got what was placed on my skin. I'm really happy with it. And the tail actually doesn't wrap around the leg, it just looks like it in the picture.

I actually never really considered it, but I guess an elephant in the same spot on my left arm would only be fitting.
