on maxima's anyways, the greddy EVO is loud as shit.....ive heard the n1 isnt too bad, almost near stock, but it has a low nice tone....catbacks dont offer much hp...5-10 at the wheels at the most.....its more for FI systems, which reap most setups from a bigger, free flowing exhaust

N1 near stock? You're out of your mind! The N1 is comparable to the Tanabe Racing Medalion, loud as hell! Apexi World Sport is the near stock exhaust, but less free flowing. GReddy Evo fits somewhere in the middle.

00GSR is right with what he is sayin'!
The N1 is killer loud !!!
If you like a close match to factory exhaust then either go with the GReedy EVO or the A'pexi WS. Both are excellent choices in my opinion. I prefer the the WS, it's as i said close to the stock noise level with some HP gain. The con is that it is not thru-pipe which takes abit away from the full potential power...but none-the-less its a good choice.
About the EVO I can't say much cause I haven't really loked at it in detail. Only from a few discussions I have heard that it is also a good choice! :sun:

To be honest, an exhaust is an exhaust. As far as the major brands go, they are all basically the same. An aftermarket exhaust system is designed to allow the exhaust gases to flow out at an accelerated and more efficient rate than the stock system affords. With that said, they ALL give minimal gains! What matters is the amount of exhaust gases your engine is producing. So, the only major differences are in piping diameter and decibel rating. As to the former, it all depends on if you want to go F/I (3” piping), powerful N/A (2.5” piping), or light tuning (2.25” piping). As to the latter, it all depends on your ability to withstand a headache. I personally cannot stand the loud exhaust note produced by the canister style exhausts (N1, Racing Medalion, etc.). But, if you don’t mind it then go ahead and get one. Like I said before, exhaust gains alone are very minimal. It’s how much gas your engine is producing that really matters!

N1 worth the money!
Yeah....I'd say so. A'pexi does quality stuff, it's not just a piece of pipe with chrome on it. They have become an industrial leader in this area. So if you realy want it get it. But if you don't know how loud it is then go check it out once. And after that listen to it again and then another three times. If you buy a muffler you'll be stuck with it for a long time, unless you got big bucks and can afford to buy a new one after 6 months. So as I said make sure you understand what you will get. A loud muffler can cause head-aches...especially if you cruise along the highway or go to work or are stuck in traffic for some time, you will need to listen to that roaring in the back of your "trunk". Can get crazy at times
Oh and some of you talk about hp gains. Well the real gains are most of the time created if you change the headers too. Change of headers and new tru-pipping with muffler = killer sound and some nice hp gains.
So cooker2003 buy it by all means its a nice piece but make sure you know what you buy...
Good Luck!

cooker2003,
the sound is not the loudest, I'd say on a scale of 5, with 1 being similar to stock and 5 being the loudest (something like Aerospeed's bomb series)...I would place the N1 around 3.5 or 4. So its close to medium loud but in my opinion too loud.
As to whether I have seen (heard) one on a 'teg, yeah I actually did and let me put it like this: I heard it comming and I heard it leaving... :sun:
Well the guy was crusing slowly and as I said I heard him come and once he passed by me I looked and saw clearly it was a N1.
As to sound files, I haven't really seen anything on the net...
Lastly one more disadvantage of a louder muffler. If you are into music then the muffler might piss you off with the noise it makes, unless you always have your system on max and don't hear anything from outside/back of your car! :silly2:
I know the way I put it, all the info I gave sounds against it but then again I might be biased about loud exhaust systems. All together I'd say buy it if you have heard it in real life and don'd mind the sound level. Quality wise by all means buy it, it's A'pexi...

how would you guys compare the hks high power exhaust? I havent found any vids of it on an integra yet but on an s2000 out of all the ones mentioned so far and more i think it has the most tuned sound. Like its super loud but not too loud to the point you cant hear your engine. And its real low but when u get the rpms up there it turns into a screamer. For the honda s2000 it was the best of both worlds. So i was wondering if it would be the same on the integra and just wondering what you guys thought of it.
