Angry More compressor problems...

My compressor just won't turn on. I have used it recently to blow off parts before paint and such. I don't know whats going on. I plug it in, flip the on switch and nothing happens! Do I have a bad leak? Is this fixable? Thanks!

Agreed, they don't work forever, but there may be a reason his stopped working which is solvable.

It could be anything from a bad pressure sensor to a loose wire....

Re: More compressor problems...

Its a Campbell Hausfeld 2 gallon. I got it at Wal-Mart for 60.00. But I don't know whats wrong with it. I might just go get another one if I can't figure out whats wrong with it.

Stupid question but have you checked that the outlet works? If its a GFI circuit it may just need to be reset. Sometimes its the simplest of things.

Re: More compressor problems...

yeah, also piggybacking on that idea, have you checked the circuit breaker? something like an air compressor could trip a breaker...

I've heard that the Campbell Hausfeld compressor that's sold for cheap at Wal Mart does not last long at all; they tend to fail quickly. Not sure what might be done to get it running; but I've heard many guys complaining on another board about this same compressor and that it has a very short lifespan.

Re: More compressor problems...

ch just completed a class-action law suit cuz of their crappy products. this sounds like the pressure sensor though, you can take it to a place that sells tools to contractors and see if theyll look at it. Personally, maybe not the most ethical but id just buy a new one and swap it...take the broke one back for cash.
