exhaust

I have a 94 civic dx cp im looking for a catback exhaust but cant decide because of the differnce in Noise each exhaust will make, im intrested in a Greddy evo but i heard its loud as hell, so my second choice was a apexi ws exhaust, my friend has a tanabe racing medalion and its too freaken LOUD!!!!!!!!!!, im building a all around street car and dont want to go deAF, im looking for a nice tone, not the weed wacker tone...if anyone has a greddy evo on thier civic how does it sound....

I personaly am going with the Tanabe Racing medalion, cause i love the noise. The apex ws system is sweet too. it is nice and deep, and not to loud. Hope that helps.

How Much

How much money are you going to spend on the cat-back? $350-500? Since you have a DX and its hella weak engine, have you thought about a swap? Namely the B18B swap, very inexpensive for a low mileage used one, $400-800. With 145hp and 145lb ft i believe, it would be the biggest gain you could make for the money. If you ever read the import mags, you know your DX motor will only make like 1-2hp at the wheels with a catback, with all bolt ons your talking about 10hp. Just something to think about.
Peace out.

i dont know where you got your info from, but an engine swap cost way more then 800. maybe the engine alone he still need the transmission, clutch, and other misc. items.

What misc.? A motor mount kit? Possibly. B18B long blocks(that means everythings there ie, head, valve cover, distr. both manifolds, sensors) go from $400-800 for the engine/ECU. Whats a LS tranny go for, $250-400, GSR trannys are like $750. But isn't that why people swap, its cheap, engine/tranny/ECU combos are about $1200-2000 depending. But doesnt the B18B bolt to the civic tranny, B-series are swappable, correct?

Actually i have a b16a sitting in my uncles garage i got it from an si for a decent price and the b18 is about $2500 to swap which includes the tranny and harnass w/computer, the good thing about the b16 is that i can use my tranny out of my b15 but chang the clutch of course, so back to the subject about the exhaus, thanx for your info about the apexi, have you ever heard it, and what does it sound like( i know its allittle hard to explain just writing it),
