Another day, another car <sigh>

So yesterday Alex got wind of a 95 Roadmaster (LT1!!) for sale at a good price. A member of the local B-body club had it up for sale so we went to look at it tonight. While there we also enjoyed a nice spaghetti dinner. So here's the new beast:

95 Roadmaster
LT1 motor
leather - 1 small tear in driver's seat other than that interior nearly perfect
all power goodies
103K miles
vinyl top

All it needs is some stiffer springs and the Alex touch (slammed/rims/stereo) and it's good to go

This will be Alex's new daily driver. We're gonna sell his Saturn...it;s a good car but loves the big cars. So at the moment we have 2 Saturns and 2 Roadmasters Maybe we'll be lucky and the project monster will be home before his Saturn is gone and we can get a nice "family" picture

This will be the 5th car we've bought in a year and a half:

My SL2
95 Mercury SAble
91 Firebird Formula
02 Saturn L200
95 Roadmaster

The Sable and the Firebird were sold after a few months of having each but the Saturns and the original Roadmaster are still with us. The project Roadmaster is going through a tranny rebuild and should be home in 2 weeks or so

No, its just like every other roof, but its made out of different material and over time if they dont take care of it, it will start to look really bad and have a 'chopped up' look to it in which the material starts to look cut up in different places.

Anyway congrats on the car.. i'd rather get a Lincoln town car but they're basicly all the same..(Big car, big engine, smooth ride.. etc)

If it's made of vinyl and doesn't come down...what's the fucking point?

Just for looks! Its really pointless, kinda like the air cooled glove boxes that come on that new passat, seriously.. if you buy food, dont eat in the damn car! And also thats why we have fridges and crap.. talk about totally useless and a waste of money.

Exactly.

It's "luxurious appearance".

Cool car though; I'm partial to the big ones also.

Re: Another day, another car <sigh>

There is no point to the vinyl except looks. We got the car for a good price and it has the LT1 that Alex has been dying to get his hands on. Everything about this car is in excellent condition except for a small tear in the driver's seat.

This will also be his daily driver (and mine if he lets me steal the keys ) and the bagged Roadmaster will be the weekend cruiser when it's ready to go back onto the road.

The original owner was and old lady (imagine that!) but she took the car in for every mile mark service. She passed away and the guy we bought it from had known her and he bought the car when it became available. He wanted to hang on to it but was in a situation where the car was taking up space and costing money (insurance) so he sold it to us. He is a member of a local Impala/B-Body club Alex and I participate in. He was happy that we took it because he wanted to see it go to a club member who would take care of it instead of some schmoe off the street that would run it to the ground.

Re: Another day, another car <sigh>

Gee, that looks a lot like the '95 Roadmaster I bought back in November. Mine just has the vinyl from the rear side window to the back, (landau style?) I broke my hood ornament off a couple of weeks ago ( DOH!) while brushing the snow off of it. Those heated leather seats sure come in handy when it's below zero! Good luck with it.
My '95 Roadmaster:

I hate leather seats.. I know you all would if you lived on the southern states. But we had a lincoln not too long ago, very nice, green, leather interior and all that stuff. Man it was sweet but, GOD DAMN you couldnt not let that thing sit in the sun or expect to have your ass burned once you sat down.

Re: Another day, another car <sigh>

I live in North Carolina with a 94 Park Avenue and tan leather. It doesn't get burning hot. Really.

Nice car though. The only thing i never liked about the roadmasters was that they look sad in the front(the grille)
