Quickie question.
Model Master clears (dull and satin) are enamel clears? Yes or no? If they are enamel based, do they take as long to dry as enamel colour paints? ie weeeeeeeks ![]() I won't ask if I can use it over acrylic paints because I will fnd the answer to that by searching ![]() I need to tone down the gloss black motip acrylic auto paint I've used on my 2CV to give it a "used" appearance and prepare it for some pastel powder weathering. For some reason I figure that MM dullcote will be better for this than the Vallejo clears that I usually use Thanks for any help you can give

I'm pretty sure those are enamels; but not 100% sure if you are talking about the spray cans...I've never seen bottles of MM flat/satin clears, only bottles of their glosscote/dullcote which are very mild lacquers and they dry faster.
Get a food dehydrator...it makes all the difference when dealing with slow drying enamels and acrylics (and primers and putties). No more waiting weeks...overnight everything will be nice and dry. In case of lacquers/flat acrylics, minutes to hours to dry. Good place to warm bodies and paint cans prior to painting as well.

Re: MM clears drying time
There is a better lacquer clear line in the expanded MM military line. These are clearly labeled as lacquer.
You could try Metalizer sealer as well, this is semi gloss lacquer and dries very quickly.
