Synthetic Oil

I just bought a 05' cobalt with 330 miles. I've always put full snythetic oil in my vehicles and wanted to know when should i for my cobalt because i never bought a NEW car before. I've read new cars now you can go straight to snythetic since they no longer need braking in on regular oil since its a aluminum block. I was thinking of putting in Mobile 1 5W-30 synthetic blend then going to full synthetic. If anyone is more knoledgable please let me know

Re: Synthetic Oil

I consider a car pretty much fully broken in at about 5000, so I tend to use regular oil for that long. I change at a few hundred, 1000, then 3000 and go to the regular schedule from there. So I guess I might do the first few changes with regular oil, then switch to synthetic.
