Good buy or not?

Was in a local store the other day, and noticed they had a pack of 3 Revell Ferraris, the Enzo, the F50 and the 360 Modena with paints/glue and other bits and bobs for £25.
On the face of it, it didnt look a bad deal, I dont have any Ferrari's, so is it a decent deal?, also are the Revell models of these any good?.

Cheers

Re: Good buy or not?

I have seen these "Value Packs" here in North America. They retail for around $20 at Walmart. But I have never seen one with only Feraris in them. Otherwise I would have bought it...

I have a Revell Enzo kit unbuilt. I think for the price it is a very good deal with lots of parts. The detail is not as good as Tamiya's. However, it still has the engine detail. The one thing it doesn't have is the CF decals. But if you are a hardcore modeller, you wouldn't mind doing your own CF details I suppose?

I can't comment on the other ones as I don't own any of them.

Winston

Same goes for the F50 and 360.

Re: Good buy or not?

In my personal opinion the Revell F50 and 360 kits are useless and a waste of time and money (especially the F50) unless you really know waht you're doing and are into masochism. The Enzo is a good kit (again, IMO)

Re: Good buy or not?

For the money I'd buy one Tamiya Ferrari.
you'll simply have a better building experence and have a nicer model on the shelf when you finish.

I dunno how much £25 is, in USD. But it seems like a good deal to me.

Oh...heh...$50 in US for 3 Revell kits...no..$50 for 3 Revell AG kits, yes. I know.same kits. But the Revell AG kits are harder to come by(to me).

I agree. I've built both the Tamiya and Revell 360's. OK, so the Tamiya kit is better, but the Revell kit is very good. You get what you pay for, but you'll be lucky to find the Tamiya 360 on its own for £25.

Pic below shows both kits. The yellow one at the back is the Revell kit.
