Totalled

Well I was cruisin in the fast lane when a pick up came into my lane and crushed my passenger side fender sending me toward the concrete wall. I jurked to the right to avoid the wall and my rear end came out. Some strait up nascar type sh*t. My car went sliding down the hwy sideways, slid off the road through a fence took out 3 large bushes and stopped on the service road.

Not pretty.

Re: Totalled

Well the guy in the pick up said that he was hit and was knocked into my lane. He may have but as fired up and shook up as I was I don't really recall.

On a possitive not, are you going to put your built motor in the '95?

Well before the accident I noticed that my car was running a little weird. Had lots of power but there was a flat spot that I couldn't seem to track down. Plus it was over heating from time to time. I pulled the heads off today and found out that it had a blown head gasket. So that along with the fact thats it got a over 100K miles I think Im just gonna go ahead and build a new short block. I picked up my new ride today, its got some miles on it too but it runs like a top. 95GT bone stock with a Cobra kit on it. I'll drive it like it is for now and drop the new motor in this spring.

The good thing is you're OK. Since you're OK I have to cry for the car! I don't even like to look at that. About ten years ago I was rearended. I was sitting at a light and some kid tried to stop too fast when the road was wet from an earlier rain and he hit the car behind me and pushed it into me. I WAS PISSED!! And that was in my 88 Escort. Because they said there was a chance of rain that day I left my 92 5.0 at home. I AM SO GLAD THEY SAID THERE WAS A CHANCE FOR RAIN OR I WOULD'VE BEEN EVEN MORE PISSED IF I WAS IN THE STANG! Well, atleast you're OK and you have a new baby to toy with.

So is the insurance co. working with you and not trying to rip you off? I noticed in your pics. you have some upgrades, MAKE SURE YOU TELL THEM SO YOU GET THE TRUE VALUE OF THE CAR, NOT JUST REPLACEMENT COST OF A STOCK STANG! GOOD LUCK MAN.

Ins. co. was real cool about it. I got replacement cost on the car and probably about 2/3 of the amount of money in parts i've got invested. That's after the $750 buy back so Im happy.

Most of the performance parts on the car survived the accident with the exception of the radiator and K&N so I'll make out pretty good in the end.

My advice to any of you is after you get your cars set up the way you want have them insured for the extra replacement costs.
