Travelling

My fiancé and I are taking a vacation and have been trying to figure out where to go. I picked up some travel brochures and one on Australia has a picture of my car (94) outside the Okawa Bay Lake Resort in Sydney. Someone there has a good taste for vehicles. Aside from that, what locations do you folks out there suggest looking into? I don’t want to repeat a destination yet. I’ve been to Siapan, Guam, Hawaii and pretty much everywhere east of the Mississippi River and next year we are going to China for three or four weeks.

Thanks for any input (aside from the obligitory "IRAQ" suggestion )

There's something about Peru. My mom has been there three years in a row now, and is going back again as soon as she can. She's basically "content" 49 to 50 weeks during the year, and actually full of "joy" and "bliss" the other two to three weeks when she goes to check out Peru, particularly Machu Pichu (sp?).

High on my personal destination lists are Ireland, Scotland, Japan, and Nepal

My parents had rave reviews about Machu Pichu too, donno why though... Perhaps it's some secret thing parents are in meets in Machu Pichu

I'd suggest NZ because of the land and the cars. France is a nice place to go if you rent a motercycle and go riding in the country, very pretty place. Of course if you go to france you can also go hit the beach in Nice.

France is an awesome place to go. Nice cars there too. Almost every other car in Paris is a Ferrari. And the country is awesome, like gonthrax said. You could get a tour of a castle too. Everything is beautiful over there.

I suggest Bora Bora. From there you can visit Moorea, Huahine, Tahiti, Manihi/Tikehau, Tetiaroa, Raiatea / Tahaa. It's not a real exciting place to go, but damn what a view!!!! Bungalo's on the water, scuba, great food. AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I need a vacation....

My last bit of advice is, don't go to anywere to "touristy" it's much more fun to go were the locals go to have fun. Kind of a window into their life, educating and entertaining at the same time

I absolutely LOVED Rothenburg, Germany. It's a small town which has not been too greatly infected w/tourism (yet). They have these AWESOME pastries called "schneeballen" or "snowballs" which just rocked my world. I hope to go back some day.

Well...id have to say NZ.
You have a huge choice of cars to pick from..the roads are great for testing them and the senery is just brilliant.
Its winter time now so its a bit cold, but if you love sking this is the place.
The people are nice and friendly and the exchange rate of $1NZD=$0.45USD is a big plus in my book !!!!

I'm actually going to propose to my girl when we go to Australia (her fav place she wants to go to, and I defentally wanna go) *she dosent come here so I dun need to worry about her reading this* so I gotta say thats an awesome choice. Ireland is another good choice, go pubing and be cozy with the gloom outside, you with your f-(word I cant spell) inside

If fishing, driving and skiing are high on your prirority list, then NZ is your best option this time of year, if you want a beach vacation then I suggest Spain, Italy or Greece, if you want beautiful scenery and beautiful girls then I suggest France or the Medeterrainian (sp)

If you want to hang out in a country which is a dustbin of fuck all, yet has it's fill of arroagant pricks (Just read Jeremy Clarksons account of his travels) then Aussie all the way

btw PMan the exchange rate has shot up to US$1=NZ$0.49:flash:

A man of your calibre should be looking at space tourism,Yogs or failing that, the Harz mountains in Germany are great if it's a motoring holiday you want.Other great places I could reccomend - England(Devon and Cornwall,Lake District,Derbyshire)Scotland(all of it except Aberdeen)Singapore - hot humid and very well-disciplined and of course New Zealand..great ski season just starting,or come in December/Jan for the long hot summer days....

Thanks to all of you who gave us some suggestions. We decided that this year we are going to head to Kauai (the garden island in Hawaii) for a few weeks this year. China next year and then we're going to do a three week trip to New Zealand and Autstralia after that. We decided against going to Europe for awhile, so we'll keep heading west!
