First Time Poster/Owner of a Sweet 70' 510

Hello fellow 510 owners!

Just got very lucky in finding a sweet condition 70' 510 for only 3K.

Very excited.

Only thing I'm not too hot on is that is an AT, and I want to find out how to make it a Manual.

The guy I bought it from says to go get a Z transmission, and the conversion wouldn't be that difficult.

He's going to give me an original clutch pedal.

I am admittedly not too mechanically inclined, but am a fast learner, and I was wondering where would I get diagrams/books/the best info on how to do this by myself.

This is going to be the main mechanical priority I have, but I'm interested in doing other upgrades, so I'd like to learn how to do this on my own.

Thanx gang,
-Cotner

i just recently wrote a quick description of this swap on another thread
here is a link-
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=469827

other than that i would need specific questions to answer....
like i told that guy, i would be glad to help you through this conversion because i have done it before and it was fairly straight-forward and easy.

read the other thread and post any questions to this thread and i'll get back to you.

good luck

welcome to AF and the datsun forums!
