Lowering of kit

Hi guys... as I m relatively new to car modeling.... can I ask.. how do you guys "lower" the model?? Cutting the suspension??? but after cutting, how is the part gonna fit?? any mods have to be done??? Thks.

I have cut the springs of the suspension for a minor lowering and adjusting of the aerodynamics of the car.

BUT! I from that site about Initial D models being really cheap, i think it was TiniImports.com or something, well there is a tutorial of how to lower the car in order to make a drag racing car. I noticed that they cut the wheel wells...

Is this what you do Primera!? Do you cut the wheel wells? I never thought about it before, it sounds like a good idea! I never really understood what wheel wells were without the pictures.

thats how i have lowered my cars wothout the wheels wells u can lay most cars right on its rockers. ive done it with all my itr,s and a couple trucks. the only problem is it is very hard to make the suspension in the itr but u cant see it with the breake in so i just super glues them on. u cant even tell.

It makes it very hard to mount the suspension when you cut out the wheel wells as most of the wheel well is needed.
Try and cut as much away as you can without having to remove the mounting points.
You will find that most models you do you wont really neat to cut the wells out as you should get a good drop without having to do it.

For memory about the only one i had to do was when i slammed my VW as the wheels were so huge.
