jdm b18c-r into a 88-91 hatch

wat's up everyone.....i was thinking about buying a 4 gen hatchback and building it up....exterior mods will be modest.....i just want it to look kind of like moppie's......i love your car man....anyways....
i know Hasport sells engine mount kit's for all b-series motors for the 4g civic....but i've heard that the type-r motor is too "tall" for the car and you need a different hood....also i heard some horror stories about the engine sitting too low and people damaging headers and shit....so i turned to you guys.....
i know there are different variables to take into consideration.....but this is for a future build up
so i'll just say that it will be a hatchback.....with (hopefully jdm) b18c-r engine.....w/ the Hasport engine mounts.....probably dropped...a modest...2 1/4 inches....but the ride height would depend entirely on the placement of the motor....so help me out people!!....
oh yea.....i want to strip the interior......just throw in 2 front seats....
also a rollcage......how much does a rollcage cost anyways?.....like....a 4 point rollcage????

Don't you know, it's 10 hp for every sticker, 50 hp extra for every additional inch of rear spoiler behond stock height.

yeah the b18c is a taller motor, so by shimming it downward youre gonna have clearance issues with the header depending on ride height. Id personally opt for the replacement hood. If you have the cash laying around for a R motor, then a hood shouldnt be a concern anyways you might even be able to get by by shaving off the hood supports on your stock hood, although I doubt it. oh yeah, you know youre gonna have to ditch the hydro type r tranny, and downgrade to an older cable tranny right?

man....that's gay... i don't want a crappy ass bullfrog hood or anything....i want to keep it a stock look......i know that typically hydro tranny's don't fit up.....that's why most people put in first gen b16's.....but i know that spoon sports has an ef hatch w/ a b18c-r with the transmission, lsd, and the original driveshaft......pretty crazy......stock hood too.....i don't know....it was on a best motoring vid..... they say it's a street car.....that's the whole reason i wanted that set up....the hatch looks so....umm....grandma style but w/ the b18c, it was sooo tight.....so i need to find some info.....cuz i do NOT want a aftermarket hood or a cable tranny.....man....

heh....i agree, those aftermarket hoods look like ass forthe most part.
you could possibly pay through the nose for a CF Sir style hood, it gives more clearance than the stock hood, and if cf isnt your thing, just paint the bastard

ok.....so i should get the jdm front end???.....i saw one online for about 700 bucks......so if i got that then the b18c would be a pretty good fit eh??......i'm not going to lower the car much so that it doesn't scrape anything... so that's why the spoon guy said it was so easy.....alrite...tahnks for the info....
