Please help...the alarm is driving me nuts

I have a problem with the programming on the theft deterent system on my 01 GTP. I have the 4 button keyless entry system, and as near as I can tell it is the original system. According to the programming test in the manual I have the option group 4 for this system. Before I tried programming the car, when I was driving it would periodically chirp quickly at me 3 times for no apparent reason. It seemed to do it mostly if I were sitting at a stop light. It would chirp maybe every thirty seconds for about two minutes and then nothing for a while, then start right back up. Sometimes it would lock the doors out of the blue when taking off from the stop.

I used the instructions in the owners manual to turn the theft deterent system off entirely, but it didn't fix the problem. I left the theft system off and also turned off the "last door locked" command or something like that, which after driving for about 20 minutes last night I thought fixed the problem. This morning I started the car to let it warm up and the chirping started again. This time it would chirp about every 10 seconds the whole time the care was idling. When I got in to drive it the chirping stopped the whole way to work, but as soon as I parked it started again every 10 seconds.

Please help...I'm almost ready to put a bullet through the car.

If you have option group 4 then you have a level 4 body control module which includes a shock sensor. The sensitivity level could be off or the shock sensor module is defective. It's located under the driver's side of the dashboard. Kick panel must be removed and it is behind the sound insulator material.

There is an adjustment knob. Rotating knob counterclockwise in 30 degree increments will decrease short alarm (5 second) sensitivity level. Clockwise in 30 degree increments will increase sensitivity level. It is the only thing I can think of.

Well, I think I may have fixed the problem (hopefully). I was going to try what bnaylor3400 suggested, and I think I did what he said but the adjustment for the shock sensor wasn't where I expected. I actually just opened the small dash access panel inside the door jamb (that's not the kick panel is it?) and right there was a small black adjustment module zip tied to the top of the light switch cluster. I have no clue if this was what I was looking for cuz I didn't have to remove any insulation and it was almost too easy to find, but it had to dials with a +/- adjustment on it and I turned them both down the the lowest setting. The car hasn't chirped back since. I'm crossing my fingers this solves my problem. Thanks for all the help, this forum has been awesome.
