Eighties Contest Entry Complete: Tamiya Ferrari F189 Portuguese GP

A late entry into the 80s contest, I hope you'll have me

Built box stock with Tamiya Italian Red. This is my first completed, properly done Tamiya model and I must admit, I was intimidated by the instructions but it went together FANTASTIC. I'm especially impressed with the rub-on tire decals--they're 100x better than anything Revell or AMT has!

Altogether a very enjoyable build.

Welcome to the contest!
I can't see the pictures at the moment, maybe they'll be back later?

Sorry about that boys, server had problems last night. Lost all my model pics, had to take a bunch over again ... should be working now.

Pics are working now.
Great effort, Nigel looks ready to win, or will he DNF today?
Pics would be better if you could find a bigger backdrop.

Yes, I think sometime after Christmas I need to do the whole setup over. I'll fabricate a "studio" like some fellow AFers have done, with 3 panels and a properly positioned light. I also have to rebuild my paint booth with some kind of heat source and a much bigger fan.

Just in case, I should mention that the little dimple you see behind the "FIAT" logo is supposed to be there, it's on both sides.

Yep, they're bodywork clearance around the induction tray (for want of a better term). A case of mechanical reality interfering with aerodynamic purity.
