Question 2003 Alero starting Problems and need help

maybe someone can help. my 2003 alero started acting up the other day. I went to start it and the battery sound like it was dying. After a couple of trys i was able to get it started without jumping it, the clock in the car was reset so I assumed it was the battery or alternator. So I charged up the battery and it seem ok until I stop and tried to start it again. The alternator I thought, but both test fine, the car runs good when it does eventually start. It doesn't happen all the time, sometimes it just resets the clock. Checked for bad grounds and it does seem to have any, Anybody have any ideas? Please help

Are you 100% sure the battery is good. If you still have the OEM AC Delco battery get it tested for shorts or dead cell. We had ours replaced by the dealer when it was still under the warranty. Same symptoms.

I agree with the previous post...check both those things. I too had my battery replaced under warranty due to the same symptoms.

It does have bad grounds or doesn't?

Maybe your connectors to the battery terminals are dirty and need to be cleaned with a wire brush?

Are you sure the grounds are grounding like they should?

If your radio was resest and the battery still had juice it's more than likely a bad connection somewhere... Clean the connectors really really good and that might be your answer.........

Question Re: Re: 2003 Alero starting Problems and need help

My 01 Alero won't start today---I reset low tire pressue light and added air to tire at same time yesterday--air pump to outlet connector----never had any issues with electrical before this 35000 miles--
now it just clicks--one click only----jump did not do anything this morning---is battery dead?--or computer needs reset?--or other?
please reply--hopefully someone can answer thru this thread or should I start new thread?
Thanks in advance

I figured it was my battery after checking voltage 12 volts read-out--Pepboys mgr says 13.5 volts needed to start car--bought a battery-switched out and it started up immediately---5 yr old original-about 35000 miles odo-
