After lunching at Hooters, Mike got a Hummer at the meeting.

We had our annual December meeting/party yesterday, with our usual elections and our "cut-throat" gift exchange. Everyone brings a wrapped item, usually a kit or detail parts or something cool related to the hobby like a killer large Alumilite casting kit donated by Eric/Mach I 2003.

I had bought both plastic and diecast Revell Hummer H2's recently at Hobby Lobby. I wanted the stock wheels/chassis for the plastic kit, and had the diecast body/plastic chassis w/bling wheels left over. Not a bad combo, I built it up and took some 99% rubbing alcohol to the CSI logos on the side and they came right off w/o touching the silver paint. I reduced the ACME logos and printed them out on decal paper. This was my contribution to the gift exchange.

GTMike got the Hummer first. When your number is called, you get a choice of picking from the unopened gifts, or stealing one of the ones already opened (and it was seriously cut-throat yesterday!). Late in the game, the ACME president stole the Hummer from Mike, and Mike stole a '37 Ford hotrod (which he probably brought in the first place ).

And yes, I did bring the '37, but I wanted it back because I needed it for my street rod. Plus, I dont want to build another Porsche, or Scag.

I did think on Sunday when he picked up the wrapped package that I should have built it as a highrider This would have been the first place you would have seen the picture. Damn, we do have a picture of him w/the box so I need to snag it and add it to this thread...
