Smile PT Cruiser with blown HEMI and flames

Hi,
Heres a pic I did of a "gasser" style PT Cruiser with a blown and fuel injected HEMI, flamed paint job, halibrand spindlemount wheels, and a chrome straight axle. One of the details that turned out kind of cool is the transparent flames over the zoomie pipes. Ive re-drawn this picture in 5 different colors, by hand each time.

Thanks for looking Vince

Great work, but you really need to think
about doing some digital art.
Makes it real easy to change colors.

That's been my favorite thing since I put the pens/markers down
and picked up the mouse/graphic tablet.

I have thougth about digital art, it would be much easier in alot of ways, I have a crappy laptop, and only photoshop, so I would need to make a few upgrades... and probably alot of practice!

Looks awesome! The chrome reflections are outstanding.

Beautiful work.
If you make the switch to digital, you won't regret it. Makes the hours of fine detail a lot easier - and cleanup is a breeze too.

Cool work. I love those colors.
The downside to digital is that you can't take the final piece and hock it on ebay Most buyers still want an original one of a kind piece of art to hang over their sofa. Plus using a wacom is a friggin pain at first.

It is a brand of tablet. But people use that name for all tablets. Kind of like the names ipod and kleenex.

Re: Re: PT Cruiser with blown HEMI and flames

Ive sold quite a few hand drawn originals, and I do get a few hundred for each one, but with all the time put into the drawing, its hard to make a decent wage (hourly). Most people are happy with prints, so digital art can probably make you more money, especially with the time it saves. I will have to try it out when I grow out of this "starving artist" phase!

How many prints have you sold on ebay? From my experience, original art sells for way too little and prints dont sell. I would say the main place for digital art is advertising and illustration. Where print is the medium, but it is in news papers or magazines. But those are way hard to get.

Re: Re: Re: Re: PT Cruiser with blown HEMI and flames

Ive sold a couple thousand prints on ebay, there does seem to be some demand there, although with the way the economy has been, sales are slower than they were a couple years ago (thanks Bush!).
Like you mentioned, original art sells for way too little...I dont list the originals on ebay, its usually private parties or collectors that contact me to purchase those.
Ive had pics published in a couple books and magazines, I think that the internet is a more powerful tool, and gives much more exposure than printed media in this day and age, everything seems to be shifting towards online.
